Gardening teams
We provide fully equipped friendly teams of up to six members and a supervisor. Our service includes one-off jobs or regular maintenance for all those usual gardening tasks. We have a loyal customer base of local residents, businesses, land owners, local groups and councils. We specialise in providing a trustworthy and value for money service to elderly or vulnerable residents in and around Richmond.
Our Team Members are trained to use power tools and hand tools.
Gardening Work is based on £25 per Hour
Fire Wood
We cut and season a variety of locally sourced hard and soft wood logs, such as ash and beech, selling them in returnable handy bags or by half and full tipper truck load. We also sell bags of kindling to get your fire going. We are approved by the Ready to Burn Scheme.
The timber is split and sawn and then stored to dry until it reaches the required moisture content and then delivered to customers in the Richmond area. We work closely with the Ministry of Defence Estates and Zetland Estate, and have assisted with tree planting during the winter months. This is rewarding, sustainable, motivating work, and providing vital income for Just the Job.
Half Load of logs – £110 Full Load – £220
We offer a wide range of activities to our team members, these are a garden maintenance service to our customers, processing fire wood to sell, arts and crafts, horticulture at our 3-acre garden site and carpentry.
Arts and Activities
The team members create pieces of art and make a variety of handmade crafts.
We use recycled and natural materials to produce unique pieces ready to sell at our coffee mornings, open days and from our workshop on the Trading Estate.
Team Members are supported to explore their creativity and develop skills to create unique pieces.

Community Gardens
At Just the Job gardens we have poly tunnels, growing beds and fruit trees. We also grow an interesting range of plants which can be purchased at our base and our fruit and veg can often be found at the greengrocers in Richmond. There is a willow and hazel coppice to provide crafting materials.
There is also a Community Orchard where residents can forage for orchard fruits and berries.
Carpentry
In Just the Jobs carpentry workshop our supervisor works with our work team members to make various items such as, birdhouses, planters and woodstores.
There is always a fun upbeat vibe and the team learn technical carpentry.
Funding
Just the Job are a registered charity and operate as a social enterprise. Our activities while being important for personal development also provide vital income to the organisation. We are pleased to be an approved provider for North Yorkshire County Council Social Services to offer our service to vulnerable adults in the Richmond area. We also operate grant funded projects and have fundraising events.
