Just the Job provide a unique service in Richmondshire providing meaningful work based activities for individuals requiring help and support to achieve their full potential in life.
Just the Job is a charity based in Richmond North Yorkshire located on the Gallowfields Trading Estate. We have 3 industrial units which consist of an office, arts and crafts room with kitchen, gardening equipment store, wood processing machinery and carpentry workshop with breakroom.
We also have a 3-acre Community Orchard and Horticultural site.
History
Just the Job began as a social enterprise in 2005, not long after it also became a registered charity. It has developed and grown over the years.
The idea for the enterprise came originally from some young people who found it difficult to gain employment.
With just a Land Rover, trailer and a few tools they were encouraged and supported, by a volunteer team to carry out gardening and horticultural maintenance work for the public.
Not long later Just the Job linked up with the Job Centre and Social Services to broaden the offer of this unique training service. An old portacabin and allotment space at Hipswell followed shortly afterwards.
By the end of 2010 Just the Job had moved to the trading estate in Richmond and taken on 2 commercial units and 3 acres of grazing land to develop our current base of operations.
We have steadily grown to provide a wide range of activities for people from around Richmond and the Dales. Always looking for ways to improve and become an exemplar of community services we have taken on the task of building a new bespoke centre to accommodate ourselves and other local charities.
WORK TEAM MEMBERS
Our Team Members are the heart of Just the Job. We aim to empower, support and nurture individuals in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. There is a wide range of abilities and conditions and we all support each other to become integrated into a real work environment and access work and life skills training, social activities and employment opportunities in a person-centred approach.

Volunteers
Just the Job are very lucky to have brilliant support from a number of volunteers who give their time to help with our valuable work. They have a raft of skills and know-how which helps us to provide a wide variety of experiences for our Team Members. Volunteers can help in all areas of Just the Job from being a trustee, working in the gardens, crafting, carpentry and the office. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to the team.
