COMPOST
This project aims to compost food and garden waste, allowing a reduction in methane
gas and leachates and avoiding the use of landfill sites by creating an organic and
useable end product. Just the Job provides work team members with experience in the
process of accelerated composting, beginning with chipping and sorting green horticultural
and food waste.
The company uses an A900 'Rocket' composter, which operates automatically
and continuously to produce compost in around 14 days. Members ensure the compost
machine is filled daily and they become familiar with safe working practices and
quality control systems.
